Spkr Plugs
TV Repair-tech’s & tinkerers!! I need to add an audio out from the chassis of an older stereo TV. Can u help?
I could tie into the spkr wires (stereo) but that might lead to pre-amp distortion.
My other options are all cryptic stuff on the chassis, such as:
- Stereo L-R buffer-
- Spkr Mute
- Aux Audio
- Stereo Out Comp
- Audio Supply Lim
- Linearity Coil
- SIG PRDC TCHP
- Stereo O/rdc
- Stereo Out (with nothing to tie into)

The old TV (1997) is an RCA made by Thomson:
Model: F25216 WT
Chassis: CTC185AB
It’s Dad’s and he’s so set in his ways, he won’t let us get him a new one with a place to plug his wireless headphones in.
But he sits there watching it in silence cuz he couldn’t hear a herd of NASCARs roar past his Lazy Boy & then off between the couch & coffee table. Oddly enough, he hears the headphones just fine. So, I’m gonna get’m in there one way or another.
